Visit and Accessibility

Old Castle and Castle Tower
In the so-called ‘Old Castle’ the Castle Museum is located, which explains the history of the location and the ancient castle owners. Further parts of the Castle Museum are the art exhibitions as well as the Castle Tower with a 360° panoramic view which is accessible through a stair (Opening Hours). The Castle-Café is located in the so-called ‘Bubenberghalle’; outdoor seating is available in the Castle Courtyard. The Winery Spiez used the Castle Cellar to produce their wine from the vines around the Castle. They offer tours through the cellar and wine tasting upon request.

New Castle
The two main halls on the ground floor of the so-called New Castle can be rented for private festivities. Also, this is where civil weddings are held.

Castle Church
The Castle Church is open to the public during the season (Opening Hours). Many different public events, such as Church services, Castle concerts, lectures, and presentations, take place in the Castle Church. It is also possible to rent the church for weddings and other private events.

Greenhouse and Gardening
The greenhouse can be rented in summer for private events. When it’s colder, the greenhouse is used to keep the plants from the Castle Park. The gardening house is used by the Foundation Spiez Castle for gardening work.

Castle Park
The Baroque herb garden, the rose garden, and other areas of the palace complex with fountains and flower beds are open to the public all year round.

«Le Roselier», Rectory and Defensive Tower
