Accessibility & Inclusion

Spiez Castle is a historic building and has countless steps and stairs. Unfortunately, accessibility is therefore severely restricted for people with limited mobility.

Art Exhibition

The Art Exhibition is wheelchair accessible by an elevator – the other rooms in the Castle Museum are accessible only by stairs. The ticket office and supervisory staff will be happy to help.

Castle Museum

The permanent exhibition in the castle is only accessible via stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.

Guided Tours

The Castle Museum is not wheelchair accessible. Guided tours on the first and second floor are possible with slight walking difficulties – please ask for further information.

Admission

Guests with a disability pass and the assistant pay the reduced admission price. An assistant accompanies a guest with a disability who is unable to visit the museum alone.

Castle Café

The outdoor seating is at ground level in the castle courtyard. The interior can only be reached via steps and is not wheelchair accessible.

New Castle

Private events such as aperitifs are held with rainy weather on the ground floor of the New Castle. This is wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet.

Restrooms

There are wheelchair accessible restrooms in the New Castle (please ask at the desk oft he Museum).

Castle Church

The church is only accessible via steps and is not wheelchair-accessible.
