Guided Tour: Spiez Castle - sensual & medieval

Equipped with colorful Gugeln - a medieval headdress - the children embark on a sensual journey through time in the castle. How does the weave of chain mail feel? How heavy is a knight's helmet? What does the kitchen maid cook in the castle kitchen? What does an 800-year-old love song by the knight Heinrich von Strättligen sounds like? What view did the knights enjoy from the high tower? Children will find out these and other questions on this castle tour.
Levels: Kindergarten / 1st and 2nd grade / 3rd and 4th grade
Format: interactive guided tour
Duration: 60 minutes

Guided Tour: Spiez Castle - through the centuries

At Spiez Castle, pupils walk through the ages. The focus is on encounters with three castle residents from different centuries: Heinrich von Strättligen (1258 -1294), Adrian von Bubenberg (1434 - 1479) and Franz Ludwig von Erlach (1575 - 1651). What activities did these lords pursue, what tasks did the women have and how did children live at the castle? A tour through the entire castle and different centuries.
Levels: 5th and 6th grade / 7th to 9th grade
Format: interactive guided tour
Duration: 60 minutes

Workshop: The Middle Ages at your fingertips!

Format: Short medieval tour combined with activities
Note: The activities take place outside, but protected from the rain in the inner moat. Please bring warm clothing.
